An Observation in Time...

We are back to unknown flower again. I think Maureen has changed her mind on the type of flower from the last time I posted this. However, this is not the purpose of this post. I took this picture around the 15th of this month. Last week we had a little cold snap. If you are from the south it was more like an artic blast! The temp's dipped into the low 30's three nights in a row.

Ten days latter...

The weather can be cruel...

Of course it's back to high 50's at night and a nice 75 in the day, but the damage has been done.

~sigh~

I can't wait for spring!

An Observation of Color and Light...

My daughter just turned 6. We just spent the day Disney and I just loved the castle. This is just one of shots I took. At times when the light was right the blue tiles blended perfectly with the blue sky and it was hard to tell where one ended and the other began. If you would like a closer look, just click to enlarge.

An observation in humanity…

I try and try to keep a positive outlook. Really, I do. You will have to forgive my manners in this post but here it goes.

Some people are just too stupid to have children. That’s it I said it. Listen up people, did we learn nothing from Caylee Anthony? If you have a child and a drug habit and you can’t quit the drugs; give the child so someone who will take care of it! If you have a child and partying is more important than the child’s welfare; give the child to someone who will take care of it! If you know someone that is too stupid to care for their child; REPORT THEM! I am sorry, I am just sick of seeing these stories in the news.

Jamir Abduli Worgs’ mother was partying at a house in Altamonte Springs, Fl and left the 1 year old in the car outside. She then lent the car to another man to go to a drug house to buy dope. He left the car running and unlocked and big surprise, someone stole it. David Carver, 36, stole the car and apparently traded the car from drugs and dropped the baby off in a random yard with the car seat.

The baby was found the next morning crawling around in a Longwood FL yard, cold and wet. He was rushed to South Seminole Hospital for evaluation and is now in custody of the sheriff’s office. It is believed that baby crawled around in the cold for hours.

According to the sheriff’s office and orlandosentinel.com, all involved have been taken into custody and face charges.

I truly do not understand people sometimes.

An observation in humanity…

Vincent Crimeni collapsed and died of a heart attack at the age of 27 over a year ago. Parents, Roco and Laurie, were understandably devastated. Now they are trying to get through the grief and continue on with their lives. This would be a bit easier they say if their sons creditors would stop calling their house demanding payment.

Roco say the calls are heartbreaking for him and his wife. “I’m afraid to pick up the phone in my own home,” he said. “That’s the hard part, to tell them my son is dead. How many times do I have to repeat it?” Laurie Crimeni said her son had no assets or estates to pay the debt he left behind, and all of the accounts were exclusively in her son’s name.

Enter the family lawyer, letters, and no results. More on the story from FoxNews.com.

I vote we post the name of each company and make daily phone calls to them and tell them to leave these people alone! Are you in?

Unknown Flower...

UPDATE: Thanks to the lovely Maureen Mchale, I now know that this flower is a Hydrangea. No I am not usually that forward, but I do live with the woman and she is quite lovely!

Did you know: Hydrangeas change colors based on the chemicals in the soil. I did not know that!

This flower caught my eye because of the different vibrant colors. Be sure to click to enlarge to enjoy the full detail.

Thanks for stopping by,

Craig

An observation in details...

Yea I know, just a weed right...

I am not sure what this plant is. I will do some research and see what I can find. The fuzzy green balls caught my attention and upon closer inspection I found little ants enjoying the sticky nectar. Click on the second photo to enlarge and you can clearly see the ants.

An Observation in Color and Light...

It's an overcast dreay day here in central Florida, but I was determined to find some color and light. I parked under a Palmetto bush and found these shots. I love the symmetry.

Beware the pot-bellied ninja!

Look out West Palm Beach, Fl! There is a new ATM bandit in town. You won’t have any trouble recognizing him; he will be the fat guy wearing the ninja outfit. According the wftv.com, the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office said a heavyset man with a visible pot-belly and a ninja costume unsuccessfully tried to steal two different ATMs over the last two weeks.

He’ll probably go straight to Denny’s after his first successful heist.

Little old ladies and Ebay…

You gotta love this young lady of 72 years. Forget the obvious question of how did a 72 year old manage to post something on Ebay; that’s a story for another post. I still have trouble helping my mother check her email. I suppose Ebay is today’s garage sale. You always want to be the one to find the prize for $10 and take it to Antiques Road Show and find out it’s worth 1.2 million dollars.

According to Yahoo Sports, Bernice Gallego pulled an old baseball card from a box of antiques and thought, hey, this might be worth something and posted it on Ebay for $10. After a flurry of inquires as to it’s authenticity she got to thinking maybe this is worth more than $10. She thought right! The card was made in 1869 featuring the Red Stocking B.B. Club of Cincinnati. It’s considered to be one of the first baseball cards ever made.

Actually value: Well, let’s just say the bidding will start at around $100,000 and let the fun begin!

Nice find Bernice! Good luck.

An Observation in Time…

Twins are not always born on the same day, sometimes not even the same year!

I find it interesting how we as humans observe time and how commonplace occurrences take new meaning when we cross the lines of what we considered to be “normal”. I suppose it’s all in fun and I too get caught up in the intrigue. So here is an interesting play on an otherwise normal natural event.

According to ClickOnDetroit.com, a metro Detroit mother gave birth to twin boys on different days and in different months of different years.

Tangernika Woods and her husband welcomed their first twin, Tarrance, at 11:51 p.m., Wednesday, New Years Eve 2008. Their second twin, Tariq, made his entrance 26 minutes later at 12:17 a.m. Thursday, the first day of January 2009.

Congratulations mama and good luck!

An Observation in Color and Light...

I found the three phases of life in this photo interesting. In the background there is a bud, spent; to the left petals waning, and in center a rose in all it’s glory.
