My dangerous world

My dangerous world

I came across this article and thought it might be interesting to my blogger friends who don’t know much about the part of the world I call home. Follow the link below and for a short read and photographic tour of home sweet Florida!

~sigh~

And Joan says South Africa is a dangerous place to live!

Just an observation…

Jeez Craig, I think I'll stick to Africa thank you!! A fellow blogger had an interesting article about this too. Not only Burmese pythons but a lot of others which are being sold as pets are let loose in the everglades and is causing a massive problem.

Strange that this should come up just when I posted this snake on my other blog? :)

Craig, move on over, I'm feelin right at home now! Pooh to snakes and gators I say. Here in the land of Oz, we also have snakes, many of the world's top ten live here. I have personally devested the home of a few that the house feline brought home and presented as testament to his hunting prowess! We also have crocs, nasty lethal spiders, sea snakes, jelly fish, poisonous fish and octopi to make your beach day completely unforgetable, not to mention any number of stand ins for the title role in jaws 4. All this has led me to wonder if perhaps Oz is some breakaway from the original Florida coastline! Yep I think I'd feel right at home in Florida! LOL!

It really is a shame that so many species wind up where they were not intended....sigh.

Sets the whole system out of whack!

Yikes. I don't think I will be visiting anytime soon. Of course, our blizzards, tornadoes, floods, mosquitoes etc. are not always fun either.

Just what I needed to hear hen my husband and I are planning to visit the Fort Myers areas, especially some islands, to see if we'd like to relocate. We're thinking of Matlaycha, which seems more reasonable in cost, than Sanibel Island. Are you familiar with those islands? I'd appreciate feedback. Thanks.

Suddenly your blog appeared on my dashboard -have never seen you there before (although I visited your blog one time, I think).
Last summer we were in Florida, and we decided that that is not the place for us. Every afternoon, between 2 and 4 pm the sky became stormy, lightning and rain came down. Very intimidating on a vacation, but how in the world can you live there??? And how come BIRMESE phythons live there??
Florida must have a sign somewhere where it says: anything dangerous, come to Florida - the state for YOU!
